Privacy

This is a personal portfolio. It has no accounts, no ads, and nothing is sold or shared for marketing. Here is everything it does with information about you.

# Reading the site

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any host, Cloudflare sees your IP address and the pages you request and keeps short-lived request logs for security and performance. Content comes from Sanity, the editing tool behind the pages; your browser fetches it directly, so Sanity also sees the request.

# Analytics

I use PostHog to see which pages get read, how the site performs, and where it breaks. It sets no cookies and writes nothing to your browser's storage. A random identifier is held in memory for the tab you have open and is gone when you close it, so each visit counts as a new one. PostHog also records anonymized session replays of how a page is used: scrolls, clicks and the layout, with anything typed into a form masked out. Turning on Do Not Track in your browser stops all of it before it loads. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views too; it is cookieless and keeps no identifier about you.

# The contact form

When you send a message, your name, email address, topic and message are emailed to me through Resend and a copy is stored privately in Sanity so I do not lose it if the email gets lost. Your IP address is checked by Cloudflare Turnstile, the spam check under the form, and by a rate limiter that stops floods; neither keeps it beyond that check, and I never store it. I use what you send only to reply to you. I keep messages so I can refer back to them; ask and I'll delete yours.

Some posts and projects link out to YouTube, GitHub, publishers and other places. Once you are there, their rules apply, not mine.

# Your choices

Use the contact form, or the address on the contact page, to ask what I hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted.

# Changes

If this page changes in substance, the date at the top changes with it.
