February is almost over, and I don't even remember it starting...where'd it go?
I got a call this week seeing if I was available to understudy the pianist role in Musical of Musicals, the Musical! with Noble Fool. This is the second opportunity I have had to understudy on the mainstage. So yes! I am very excited. Musicals is playing now until April 21 at Pheasant Run, St. Charles, IL.
Annie Jr. is in rehearsals, and we have 6 boys now (we only had 2 show up at auditions). I finished teaching the vocals on Wednesday (HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!). I have done Annie 3 times and the Jr. version is so simplistic comparitively. We are having a good time, and "it's a Hard Knock(s) Life", again. Annie Jr. opens Mar 17 and runs for 6 weeks at Pheasant Run.
Tonight, I went to a run-through of yet ANOTHER show I am playing right now, A Chorus Line at ECC Musical Theatre. I had never played Act 1, so I was eager to hear and see the cast. It is coming together quite nicely. A Chorus Line opens Feb 23 and plays for 2 weekends at Elgin CC.
And finally, I just extended my contract with Flanagan's Wake. So that will make 3 years 2 months...(something like that). The longest theatre TEMP job ever. Oh how I love FW. Flanagan's Wake plays weekends on Bourbon Street at Pheasant Run, St. Charles through June.
Whew...I'm exhausted just thinking about it all, and somehow I stay in good spirits. Wishing you a warm and delightful SPRING season!!
