To Oz!

Today is the final performance for Wizard of Oz.  I am very happy to have done this show, but I am even more ready for it to be over.  I have never done the show before, so I thought it would be good to get it under my belt.  I am playing Tenor Sax, Flute, and Clarinet.  I haven't played reeds in a few years, and I am loving it.  It's nice to ake the back seat for a while.  Tom Jesse is the MD and he is more than capable.  He is an old friend that asked me to play, and I couldn't turn him down.

The FUNNIEST thing that happened at OZ happened last night.  Every night the WW's tune with a tuner, since the piano is a digital piano.  Well, we would tune and be right on.  Then the show would start, and we were adjusting all the time; pulling out, pushing in, lipping it down, etc.  Well, last night Janel and I got a bug up our ass and figured we would tune the piano with the tuner.  It was 20 cents sharp.  We tuned sharp for the second act and everything was alright.  We laughed for about 15 mins seeing that no one knew why we were always out of tune.  Well at least we got 1.5 shows sharply in tune.  LESSON:  Always check the digital piano to see if it is playing at A440.
