I finally got to NYC on early Monday morning a little later than expected due to the winter weather storm that passed through the midwest and headed east. But I got here and everything is good.
I had my audition for Movin' Out yesterday, and it went very well. I got there at 2pm and they were on lunch, so I waited around until they came back (at about 3pm) and started seeing appt's. I was a little worried since I didn't have an appt. but I was the first person in after the lunch hour.
They let me sing/play my entire selection (Italian Restaurant). Even though I lost my voice on Saturday, I was still able to sing pretty decently (Thank you, steroids!). For not being a tenor I hit quite a few G's and G#'s.
I bumped into an old friend, Nikki S who was auditioning for the Ring of Fire tour. I was going to get some water, walked by a room and said to myself, "Oh, that girl sound pretty good." She walked out and it was my duet partner from Cortland's Grand Night For Singing. We caught up while I was waiting and she helped me feel a little more at ease, cause my nerves were a little bit on edge. It was great to see her. ONLY IN NYC.
Neal and I met up after my audition, and we had some lunch at a diner and then headed home.
I'm so glad my audition was yesterday cause I don't think I would be able to sing today. I woke up with a lot of congestion and sinus problems. Go figure, I have a sinus infection in one of the dirtiest cities.
Thank you for you constant support. XO
